Launching your own custom website allows you as an artist to have complete control over the look, feel, and delivery of your music to a potential audience of billions of internet users.
1. Register a Domain Name - Every
website needs a domain name, i.e. an address which can be typed in so fans can
get to your site. You will need to register a domain, we recommend using
GoDaddy.com or a similar company, this usually costs less than $10 per
year.
2. Set up a Hosting Account - your website needs to be hosted
somewhere so that it can be found online. There are many hosting providers out
there, we recommend using GoDaddy.com as they are relatively inexpensive and
provide a lot of features. Most websites can be hosted for about $5 a month.
Typically you can get a package from companies like GoDaddy which include domain registration and hosting for about $50 a year.
